Tasmanian Open Championships
The Sandy Bay team skipped by Yvonne Buckley, ably supported by Annie Shield and Gail Price, defeatedAilsa Milburne's Rosny Park team 20-17 in the Final to secure the Women's Open Triples crown.

Yvonne also reached the Final of the Women's Open Singles where she was defeated 25-13 by Australian representative Rebcca Quail in a high standard game. Rebecca also defeated Bernice Halloran in the quarter-final and Monica Lovell in the semi-final.
Sandy Bay skip David MsLean with his star studded northern combination captured the Men's Open Fours for the thid successive time. A remarkable achievement by any measure!

Chris Bailey is recovering well from her recent surgery and is now resting comfortably at home preparing to return to bowls in the near future.Australian Open Championships

This popular annual social evant was well patronised by a full complement of 24 teamsThe event was won with 32 points by the Beltana team of Glenda Omerod (skip), Margaret Jacobs, Jennette Lane and Maree Morgan,
Runner's Up with 31 points was the Rosny Park team of Joan Riley (skip), Lyn Kosi, Bev Gillie and Cynthia Hall.
The Sportsman's Prize was won by the Taroona team of Judy Spencer (skip), Daphne Gorringe, Fiona Hicket and Bella Clarke.
Southern Open Men's Fours
The composite team of Rod Cooper (skip), Mike Sweeny, Craig Bishop and Ben Dayton was successful in an incident packed Final.Rod Cooper had a medical emergency which necessitated his being taken to hospital by ambulence midway through the game.
Luckily, Lindsay Lovell was on hand to fill the two spot with some distinction and he now claims a share of the prize money!
